[...] I am reprinting this posting on the argument against privatizing health care. The title is Should our health care be further privatized? Is the primary purpose of my life to make those already rich, even richer? Health care is a general good just like education, military and police. Is government’s reason for being to ensure or to promote the general good? Do the rights of a small group of individuals to make money off my health triumph my right to this general good? I ask these questions as I reflect on John McCain’s free market approach to health care. [...]

[...] This week was nursing home week. In connection with this event, the senate held a hearing on enforcement of federal quality of care standards for nursing homes. The hearing was broadcast by Cspan. Click here to watch the testimony if you missed it. You’ll find it under “Recent Programs.” As I wrote earlier, the Government Acccounability Office (GAO) found that nursing home inspectors are derelict in their duty of identifying and enforcing violations.
I have heard that this website is wonderful, but after visiting it I’ll disagree with most of the people, who think so. Yes, there is some fresh and interesting information but most of it looks unprsentable. There are so many ways to check information, haven’t you heard of it? After trying it several times I realized, that it’s not unique.

I never post info without making sure that it comes from creditable sources. Sorry if you're disappointed.

[...] 11, 2008 · No Comments After suffering in the hospital for a month, W. died. His passing took place on February 26, 2008.Although I swore I would not cry at the funeral, within minutes of entering the church, tears began to roll down my eyes. It’s not that he was a part of my day to day experience; it was that he was a part of my overall experience. I, we all who knew him feel diminished by his death. Our lives have grown smaller, and will grow even smaller as death claims more and more of us until none who knew him remains. [...]
